Neutralizing wood after it has been cleaned with bleach or stripped using a chemical stripper is important. Often left out of the preparation process or applied improperly, it not only neutralizes, but also brightens the wood as shown in these pictures. These logs were stripped, and while still wet, the acid was applied, allowed to dwell for a predetermined lenght of time and then rinsed. The results are rather dramatic.

After the logs have dried, the wood is much lighter and more uniform leaving a good, brightened surface ready to recieve a quailty sealer.
